Detlev Kühner acts as counsel and arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc arbitration proceedings. He also intervenes in the pre and the post arbitration phase, particularly in the context of enforcement proceedings and award challenges. With more than twenty years of experience, Detlev also worked as Counsel at the ICC International Court of Arbitration between 1998 and 2004. As head of the German-speaking team of the Secretariat, he supervised a large number of arbitration cases in English, French and German before joining BMHAVOCATS in 2005.
Familiar with the customs of international commerce and with working in a multicultural environment, Detlev is an active member of several arbitration committees and associations (ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, Standing Committee of the ICC Centre for ADR, ASA, DIS, IAI and AFA). Author of numerous articles and publications on arbitration, he regularly lectures on the subject.
