Anja Droege Gagnier has always worked in a resolutely international environment. She has more than 20 years’ experience in international transactions (mergers-acquisitions, joint ventures, distressed M&A, corporate finance), restructuring and insolvency proceedings in numerous sectors: real estate, banking, insurance, oil, nuclear energy, aeronautics, automotive, transport & logistics, infrastructure, media, life sciences, biotechnology, renewable energies, luxury and more.
Anja Droege Gagnier advises and provides support to an international, often German-speaking clientele, composed of credit institutions, industrial and commercial entreprises, private equity funds as well as court-appointed administrators in their investments or divestments in France. She advises credit institutions within the framework of their financing projects in France (real estate or corporate), particularly in crisis scenarios on the part of the borrower, either as part of preventive proceedings (conciliation, ad hoc mandate) or collective proceedings (controller missions, representation in creditors’ committees, representation before the courts, etc. ). Anja Droege Gagnier is familiar with trusts, which she has put in place on a number of occasions (oil and real estate portfolios). She knows how to use the arsenal of legal tools in order to optimize the chances of crisis resolution and collection for her clients.
She is the author of various publications in Germany (Neue Zeitschrift für das Recht der Insolvenz und Sanierung – NZI) and the UK (Insolvency and Restructuring International),
Anja Droege Gagnier is co-author of the book “Gläubigerkommentar Anfechtungsrecht” (2015, 2nd edition, Finanz Colloquim Heidelberg), as well as of the “France” section of the book “Cash Pooling and Insolvency” (2012),
“Licences and Insolvency” (2014) as well as “Retention of Title and Insolvency” (2015) from “Globe Law and Business” edition, London.
She participated in the work group of the Universities of Heidelberg and Vienna, selected by the European Commission to lead a study on the impact of EC regulation 1346/2000 on insolvency procedures. The work group issued reform proposals to the commission in November 2012.
Anja Droege Gagnier was selected by Who’s Who Legal 2016 as a French expert in the “Insolvency & Restructuring” category.
